NOTE: The "existing marsh" boundary corresponds to our best estimate of the high tide line, which is also the regulatory boundary of salt marshes under Massachusetts state wetland regulations. The high tide line (HTL) is also known as the "annual high tide" or "king tide." Actual salt marsh boundaries and wetland boundaries for the purposes of permitting are based on actual field observations and field surveys.
